JUNE 26, 2020

We have no known or suspected cases of COVID-19 at our community and will continue our current restricted access policies.

Phase I of Reopening Oak Hill

We will maintain our current restricted access in accordance with Governor Roy Cooper’s announcement to pause in Phase II for another three weeks.  In the meantime, we will continue working on the logistics of our Phase I Reopening Plan.

Our guidelines include the following - between 9am and 4pm Monday through Saturday ONLY we have staff assigned to assist

  • Please drop off materials for residents at the front door on the cart designated for this purpose.  We check regularly and deliver items.

  • Window visits (with windows closed) are encouraged.

  • Phone calls are encouraged (please call and give us time if we need to assist residents).

  • FaceTime is available if you call in advance so we can arrange to help residents.

  • To make arrangements for items listed above that require staff assistance, please contact our Life Enrichment Director at 919-639-9000 x 314

JUNE 12, 2020

We have no known or suspected cases of COVID-19 at our community and will continue our current restricted access policies.

Phase I of Reopening Oak Hill

We are working on tentative plans for modifications to our restricted access while following CDC and NCDHHS guidance and the Governor’s evolving recommendations – especially as they relate to adult care homes. Our current thoughts for loosening restrictions may include a sign up process for outdoor visits (limit 2 visitors per resident), enhanced inside Oak Hill activities in very small groups, and small group dining and/or outside picnics for residents.

Please watch our updates in the next few weeks for details of this plan. We will post information on the website and Facebook. In the meantime, enjoy our new twist on “artwork” depicting our residents.

Thank you for your continued cooperation!

MAY 22, 2020

We are thankful to announce that we continue to have no suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19.

On May 20th, Governor Cooper issued Executive Order 141 easing restrictions on travel, business operations and mass gatherings. At a press conference yesterday, the Governor and NCDHHS Secretary Cohen announced that North Carolina will move into Safer At Home Phase 2 on Friday, May 22 at 5 p.m.

While the state’s overall key indicators remain stable, the increase in daily case counts signal a need to take a more modest step forward in Phase 2 than originally planned.

PLEASE NOTE: All restrictions related to long term care facilities, which includes adult care and family care homes, remain in effect until further notice.

We will continue to take the most conservative route possible to safeguard all our residents and staff at the community.

MAY 15, 2020

We are pleased to report that we have no known or suspected cases of COVID-19 at this time. We hope you enjoy a video of life inside Oak Hill where our residents are enjoying the nice weather, taking walks, and doing activities that comply with social distancing rules.

APRIL 29, 2020

The health and safety of our residents, staff, and families are of utmost importance and priority to all of us.

We have no known or suspected cases of COVID-19 at our community.

Effective immediately - In light of the issues at other communities/facilities and in an effort to continue protecting the residents our visitation policy is as follows:

  • Interior Building visitation continues to be restricted to only health care professionals and staff (essential personnel).

  • Property visitation (talking with residents across gates, at windows, etc.) is restricted to Monday through Saturday, 9am to 4pm.  Violators will be asked to leave immediately.

Drop off of packages continues from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday.  Items should be labeled with the resident name and room number and left on the cart for delivery based on staffing availability.

APRIL 24, 2020

The health and safety of our residents, staff, and families are of utmost importance and priority to all of us.

We have no suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19.

In light of current conversations about “re-opening” businesses, our plan involves following the guidelines included in the Governor’s three phase roll out.  At this time, his plan includes restrictions for adult care homes continuing throughout all three phases due to the vulnerable population we serve.

We will monitor and follow his plan in the coming weeks. For more details click here

Aligned with Local/State/Federal guidelines, and out of an abundance of caution we continue the following:

  • Restricting visitation and monitoring staff and limited health care providers in the building

  • Closely monitoring resident temperatures and symptoms twice daily

  • Eliminating communal dining, activities and outside appointments

  • Helping residents one-on-one with activities, phone calls and walks to our courtyard area based on staffing availability

  • Focusing on infection prevention and control practices

  • Drop off and pick up is still available Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm.  We ask for everyone’s support in limiting the number of types of items entering the building.  Please consider delivering once a week - only essential items like Depends and Boost and not dropping off open food.  Please label your items and place them on the cart for delivery.

  • Visiting hours are no longer relevant since we have restricted entry.  If you decide to stand outside a window to visit with family we ask for this to be done between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday to provide for a monitored and safe environment that protects resident privacy. Please remember windows should not be opened during these visits.  (see recent updates for change in hours)

Thank you again for your support and cooperation.
