Why families start here

Clarity before commitment

A minute, not a meeting

Seven questions you can answer from the kitchen table. No forms to download, no appointment to book, no salesperson on the other end of a phone.

Real numbers, right away

You'll see an actual monthly range built from our published rates — not a "call for pricing" wall. Because a decision this significant deserves honest arithmetic.

Answers, not a sales call

Your results are yours whether or not you share your details. Most families take the assessment two or three times as their situation changes — that's exactly what it's for.

Prefer to talk it through with a person? Our Admissions Director will gladly show you around on a private tour, at a time that suits your family.

The Path Home

A straightforward admissions process

Every family arrives with different questions and a different timeline. Some need a room this week. Others are planning a year ahead. Rebecca Marsh, our Director of Admissions, will walk with you through each step, at whatever pace your family needs.

Respite & Trial Stays

Try Oak Hill first

A 30-day stay, with no Community Fee.

Not sure if assisted living or Oak Hill is the right fit? Stay with us for up to 30 days, whether for respite while a caregiver travels or recovers, or as a trial before deciding. Respite and trial residents receive the same care, meals, and activities as every resident, at the standard monthly rate. There is no Community Fee for the stay. If you decide to make Oak Hill home, the Community Fee will then apply.

Plan Ahead

The Oak Hill Reserve

Be ready before you need to be.

Many families find Oak Hill before the time is right, and then the time arrives all at once. The Oak Hill Reserve ensures you're ready when that time comes.

For a refundable $1,000, you'll receive:

  • Priority admission: first offer of the next available room of your choice
  • Paperwork done in advance, so move-in can happen within days, not weeks
  • Your monthly rate locked for 12 months, including your first year as a resident
  • A standing invitation to lunch each month, and to seasonal events like the Fall Festival and Concerts by the Fountain, so Oak Hill feels familiar long before moving day
  • A personal contact: our Director of Admissions will check in with your family every few months

Your $1,000 is credited toward the Community Fee at move-in, and it's fully refundable within 12 months if your plans change.

Common Questions

The questions families ask first

Assisted living provides long-term support with everyday activities, such as bathing, dressing, medications, and meals, in a residential setting, for people who don't need the continuous clinical care of a nursing home. Oak Hill is licensed for assisted living, and every part of the community is designed around it.

Companion rooms start at $5,250 per month and private rooms at $6,000 per month. One monthly rate covers all standard care and services, with no additional charges based solely on the level of routine assistance. A one-time Community Fee of $5,500 applies at move-in. See Residences & Pricing for every room.

All standard care and services: 24-hour staffing, medication administration, help with bathing, dressing, eating, transfers, walking, and incontinence care, three meals daily plus snacks, housekeeping, laundry, cable, and activities.

A one-time fee of $5,500 for new residents, covering admission, preparing the room, orientation, and the initial assessment. Oak Hill Reserve deposits are credited toward it, and trial and respite stays of up to 30 days have no Community Fee.

Yes. A respite or trial stay of up to 30 days lets you experience Oak Hill with no Community Fee. Many families start this way.

When a room is available, move-in can often happen within days. The assessment takes 10 to 20 minutes, and North Carolina requires a physician-signed FL-2 form dated within 90 days of admission. Oak Hill Reserve families complete their paperwork in advance, so they can move even faster.

The FL-2 is North Carolina's required medical form for assisted living admission. A physician must complete and sign it no more than 90 days before move-in. Our admissions team will help you coordinate it with your doctor.

Monthly rates are reviewed once a year. Residents receive 30 days' written notice of any change.

Many families use long-term care insurance benefits toward assisted living. Policies vary, so bring yours to the admissions meeting and we'll help you understand what documentation your insurer requires.

Oak Hill is a private-pay community and does not participate in State-County Special Assistance.

Many residents living with early memory loss do well at Oak Hill. Every admission is individually assessed to make sure we can meet each person's needs.

Take your time. A 30-day respite or trial stay lets you experience Oak Hill with no Community Fee. Or join the Oak Hill Reserve for priority admission, a 12-month rate lock, and a standing invitation to lunch, so Oak Hill feels familiar long before you need it.
